The Melrose Community Hall on Kells Avenue
was SAVED & renovated, a project valued at over $200,000. A mini museum was created in the Hall’s
library & holds many treasures
dear to Melrose natives. Melrose’s
own Blarney Stone sits in a mini park by the Hall. Check out our Hall renovation
project by following the link on out Renovation Projects page, or click below to
go there now. (Click)
Numerous big improvements have been made by the Volunteer Fire
Department—including the purchase of a newer fire truck & other heavy
equipment, updated safety gear, a portable heart defibrillator, an addition
built on to the Fire Station—and more. (look for a story of the Fire Dept.
coming soon to this site-)
And there are more---MANY MORE projects & accomplishments that
have & continue to transpire in this SPECIAL PLACE CALLED MELROSE. This is only a ‘nutshell’ summary of the
MAGIC that occurs here. MELROSE-A
COMMUNITY AT WORK….and PLAY!!!
What is the key to the success of Melrose? Simple. It is the PEOPLE. And we believe
the truth is, Melrose is big enough to get any job done, but small enough that
you cannot leave it up to “someone else” to do. Everyone feels responsible. You help
because YOU are needed. And if you don’t show up to help—everyone will ask you
where you were. So it is best….to
‘show up’ !
