CABOOSE PROJECT---l995
Page 3
The REALLY BIG BLESSING came when the Carter family of Melrose, who work in Des Moines for the Northwest Erection Company informed us they had visited with their boss, Greg Gear & fellow LOCAL #67 IRONWORKERS UNION members. They had ALL agreed to DONATE the use of the crane and DONATE their SKILLED LABOR.
Ironworkers were Duke, Rick and Steve Carter, B.J. Douglas, Frank Thomas, Ned & Bob McKenna, Dick Howie, and Rick King.
On Saturday, June l7 it was a GRAND day for Melrose when the skilled crew arrived about 7:30 am with their awesome big crane. And close behind came two huge semi trucks with low boy trailers (owned & operated by Tim Judge of Melrose and Van Stryk of Eddyville).
